私の作品の主材は鉄である。鉄(鋼)は産業の基盤材料として最も多くを占め、現代の風景を作り出してきた身近な素材である。更に、宇宙的事象まで遡れば物質の根源から生命観に至るまで、私たち人間と密接な関係を持つ存在でもある。私はその壮大さに惹かれると同時に、一つの素材が普遍的な問いへ接続する「橋」となり得る事に希望を持っている。物質には、地質学的時間から産業構造まで折り重なる様に複数の時間が内在する。私はその層を掬い上げ、参与し、自らもまた層を重ねる手となる。素材を生成し、扱い、構造を築く人類の根源的な作法と、自然循環の連なりを辿りながら。

I use iron as the main material for my pieces. Iron (along with steel) is the most widely used industrial material in our world. It is a material we see every day, which forms the various scenery around us. Moreover, if we expand our perspective on this material to include cosmic phenomena, examining it along a spectrum ranging from the origins of matter to life itself, iron exhibits a history closely interlinked with ours as humans. While conveying the appeal inherent in the grandeur of these perspectives, it is my hope that iron can serve as a single, shared "bridge" to answer ubiquitous inquiries.
Multiple types of overlapping and interweaving time exist within matter, ranging from time in the larger geological sense to that relating to industrial structures. My job is to capture those strata and, serving as an agent of formation myself, arrange them in my own unique ways. I do this while exploring the ways in which overlap occurs between the inherent human process of creating, manipulating and structuring materials, and the cycles of nature.
