1946年、オアフ島で誕生したISLAND SLIPPER(アイランドスリッパ)。そのルーツは、日本からハワイへ渡った移民・本永瀧蔵(モトナガタキゾウ)に遡ります。サトウキビ畑やパイナップル畑が広がる当時のハワイで、日本の草履や雪駄をベースにサンダルづくりを開始いたしました。
日本人らしい丁寧なものづくりの精神が息づくアイランドスリッパは、やがてハワイのローカルに愛され、数多く存在したサンダルブランドの中で唯一生き残り、現在ではハワイ最古のサンダルブランドとして確固たる地位を築いています。
そして2026年、アイランドスリッパは創業80周年を迎えます。“足元から暮らしを豊かにする”その精神は、創業当初から変わることなく受け継がれ、今もなお世界中の人々を魅了し続けています。
7月25日(土)、26日(日)の2日間限定でサンダルにスタッズ加工を施せるイベントを開催いたします。

ISLAND SLIPPER was founded on Oahu in 1946.
Its roots can be traced back to Takizo Motonaga, an immigrant from Japan to Hawaii.
In Hawaii, where sugarcane and pineapple fields stretched as far as the eye could see, he began making sandals based on Japanese zori and geta.
Island Slipper, imbued with the meticulous craftsmanship characteristic of Japanese people, eventually became beloved by Hawaiian locals. It was the only sandal brand to survive among the many existing brands, and today it has established itself as Hawaii's oldest sandal brand.
And in 2026, Island Slipper will celebrate its 80th anniversary.
The spirit of ""enriching lives from the feet up"" has remained unchanged since its founding, and continues to fascinate people all over the world.
